Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, office Macedonia in cooperation with European Forum for Democracy and Solidarity and the Progres Institute for Social Democracy organized the Conference “The Effects of the Financial Crisis in the Balkans and the Social-democratic Answers”, which took place in Skopje, on 16th October 2009.

The Conference gathered representatives with social democratic political orientation from the region and EU states, the sister institutes and foundations, as well as independent experts.  

The Conference offered the participants the opportunity to discuss the socio-economic implications of the financial crisis in the Balkans, the effects of the economic recession, and furthermore strengthened the links and impacts by the proposed social-democratic solutions on European and regional level.
